Professional RAID Recovery Service

RAID and NAS devices can be valuable storage solutions for home users as well as mission-critical devices that businesses rely upon.

However, RAID and NAS systems can often have a relatively short lifespan, with wear-and-tear, continual use, and sensitive components all potentially contributing to eventual corruption or data loss.

Our experts can help recover your information if the worst happens. Read on to explore our services below.

RAID Recovery

Our team of experts boasts an exceptional success rate in recovering mission-critical data from failed RAID arrays of any configuration, file system, or operating system.

Our flexible solutions and around-the-clock services ensure your data is in safe hands, and we are also able to assist you with emergency service if your data loss is mission-critical and is interrupting your business operations.

We specialise in resolving complex RAID data loss scenarios, including failures due to multiple hard disk failures, software corruption, malware, physical damage, and human error. From two-drive setups to several hundred RAID disks, we can successfully recover data from all RAID levels. Furthermore, we can help you physically, in-lab, or remotely.

SAN & NAS Data Recovery

Although SAN and NAS systems differ significantly in design, our approach to data recovery remains consistent.

Our RAID data recovery engineers specialise in reconstructing complex file-based and block-based storage systems, ensuring optimal results for NAS and SAN data recovery.

We manage an extensive library of custom and proprietary tools, and our knowledgeable engineers are able to address we address a variety of architectures, whether they are proprietary SAN-NAS hybrid operating systems – such as Synology appliances – off-the-shelf NAS products, or file systems including NetApp, EMC, and SNAP.

Hybrid & Nested RAID Recovery

Hybrid RAID arrays, such as RAID 0, RAID 10, RAID 50, and RAID 60, can improve data redundancy rates and performance. However, they are not immune to eventual failure and potential data loss.

Our engineers employ advanced techniques and specialised tools to recover data from these arrays, even in cases involving disk errors, multiple disk failures, physical accidents, ransomware, or environment damage.

Virtualization Data Recovery Service

Whether you use VMware, Hyper-V, Citrix XenServer, or other virtualization technologies, the data stored on your virtual drives can be crucial for business purposes. Without backups, it may also be irreplaceable.

However, even in cases of virtualization, the Secure Data Recovery experts can recover your data. Software bugs, read errors, hardware failures, malware infections, or human errors make no difference – contact us today to restore your virtual builds and information.

Server Data Recovery

Server crashes can lead to significant data loss and productivity downtime. Our server data recovery services cater to a wide range of servers, from single disk drive setups to large cluster computing, web, mail, and database servers.

We strive to get your data back online quickly and will work tirelessly to ascertain server faults before undergoing the data recovery process. Contact Secure Data Recovery to consult with our server data recovery experts concerning your next steps.

Overall okay

I recently used Secure Data to recover a broken external drive with important files. They were able to recover around 80% of the data, which was a relief. Initially, the quoted cost was over $2,000, which was much higher than I could afford. After explaining my situation, they were able to lower the cost to around $850. The overall service was decent, but I felt it was a bit unexpected to have to leave a review to get my recovered data. It would be nice if more transparency and flexibility were part of the process from the start.

So happy to have my photos back!

Jason Molinaro, the Secure Data rep who helped me, was so communicative in every step of the process. I was so sad when I lost my photos because my phone broke unexpectedly but Secure Data made every step so easy. Sending my phone in was easy because they sent the mailing label right to me. They promptly told me when the phone was received and when the diagnostic was done. Jason sent all the forms I needed to sign directly to me so it was as easy as possible.

You’ve Experienced RAID Failure: The Next Steps

In the event of RAID failure, it's crucial to take immediate and appropriate action:

  • Shut down the system promptly.
  • Make detailed notes of any relevant events such as physical damage, unusual noises, or power issues such as power cuts or electrical surges. If you see any obvious signs of physical damage, take photos.
  • Label the sequential disk order of the array configuration for reference.
  • Compile a list of necessary files, including their locations and volume sizes, to aid in recovery efforts.
  • Seek professional assistance.

Common causes of RAID Failure

When mission-critical data is lost or compromised, production comes to an abrupt halt, and the results can be lethal to your business and your bottom line.

While a redundant array of independent disks have data redundancy and fault tolerance, in many cases, one hard drive failure can affect the entire RAID configuration. Your array can experience data loss due to a variety of scenarios including:

  • Accidental data deletion
  • Formatted partitions
  • Malware infections including Ransomware
  • File system corruption
  • RAID controller failure
  • Incorrect RAID rebuilding process
  • Single or multiple drive fails
  • Inaccessible RAID Volumes
  • Power surge or power outage
  • Abnormal termination of a rebuild
  • A replacement drive has failed
  • Multiple pPhysically failed disks

What To Avoid When A RAID Array Fails

When facing RAID storage failure, certain actions can exacerbate the problem, leading to further damage to the drives and file system. Here are practises to avoid:

  • Continuing to use the array after failure, which can worsen damage, ruin redundancy, and compromise file systems, potentially resulting in permanent data loss.
  • Attempting to reset the data storage or forcefully bringing offline RAID setups back online.
  • Trying to repair the file system using tools like CHKDSK, fsck, and limited utilities.
  • Reading from drives exhibiting abnormal noises or bad sectors.
  • Running free RAID recovery software or applications, which can potentially worsen the situation.

The RAID Data Recovery Process

Our data recovery process involves non-destructive diagnostics to assess RAID status, configurations, drive conditions, metadata, and we uncover the reason for failure and data loss.

During your data recovery journey, our RAID technicians will repair failed disks, image them to preserve data, assemble RAID/SAN/NAS systems, and conduct file or database repairs as necessary. Finally, we transfer recovered data to a new hard drive for secure return shipping or pickup by our clients.

Taking appropriate steps and seeking professional assistance can greatly increase the chances of successful RAID data recovery.
